House rules, emergencies,
shopping and transport
We would like to make you aware of some house rules and information for your own comfort.
The maximum occupancy of the house and grounds at all times is 12 people, please do not exceed this at any time.
Stag and Hen parties are not permitted unless previously agreed by the owners in writing.
Please report any breakages by leaving a note in the property on the dining room table.
Please do not use any candles in the property for fire safety reasons.
Please do not leave fires unattended. If using the log fire let it die down before bed and close the fire door before retiring.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the property.
Parties are not permitted at any time, nor is loud music.
No fireworks or Chinese Lanterns at any time due to the animals nearby.
Please do not disturb our neighbours and quiet time outside is 11.00pm latest.
Please ensure all windows and doors are locked on exiting.
The courtyard to the front of the house is shared with other residents and so is not a play area.
When visiting the farm please do not approach the stables or touch or feed the horses (they can bite).
Please keep dogs on a lead in the courtyard and near the stables.

In the event of an emergency at the property, please contact the hosts Brian on 07831-210123 or Sara 07786-070135.
There is a FIRST AID KIT in the utility room.

Fire and Emergency Escapes
The bedrooms upstairs have access to two staircases down to the ground floor.
There are five exit doors on the ground floor all of which open into safe areas.
Fire extinguishers are in the Kitchen Utility cupboard and in the entrance foyer cupboard.
Smoke detectors are fitted throughout so if you hear the alarm please take action.
There is a CO2 detector in the Lounge

The nearest two hospitals with Accident and Emergency provisions are Maidstone Hospital and William Harvey at Ashford.

In the village is a Co-op and the Mace convenience store – both in the centre of the village on the A20.

Tesco Extra – a big Tesco in Maidstone – Grove Green ME14 5TQ (6 miles)
M&S Superstore - in Maidstone – Grove Green ME14 3EN (6 miles)
Waitrose – In Ashford. TN23 3RT (10 miles)
Public Transport
Train Service from Harrietsham village station
(parking available, either park in the pay-and-display or on free on the road just before the station)
LONDON via Victoria – (1.23) Trains once an hour.
LONDON via St Pancras – (1.15) Once an hour via Ashford.
Trains also run to Canterbury, Folkstone, Rye, Margate and a range of coastal resort towns.
Bus Service: There is a limited bus service from the village to Maidstone and Ashford.
General Shopping
Maidstone – has a nice shopping area and two malls. Parking is relatively easy in a number of pay-and-display car parks around the town. The River Medway flows through the centre of the town and offers nice riverside walks.
Bluewater Shopping Centre (35 mins) - A very large and modern shopping centre with every possible shop set in
luxurious surroundings with lots of food options and entertainments (such as the longest zip wire in England).
Ashford Designer Outlet (29 mins) – a big open air collection of leading shops selling their rages at reduced prices.
Well worth a visit.

Indian Restaurant in Harrietsham and Charing, Fish and Chips in Lenham and Bearsted, Chinese in Lenham.
