Where to Eat and Drink

We really are spoilt for choice when it comes to country pubs, gastro pubs, and restaurants

in this area.  Here are just a few of the nearest that we really like…..

The Ringlestone Inn.  www.theringlestone.co.uk   01622-290300 (5 mins)

A beautiful Grade ll listed building dating back to 1533, now a free-house country pub and excellent restaurant run

by Dalton and Paulo who present a menu based on artisan methods of whole carcass butchery, dry curing, smoking

and preserving.  A lovely walk from the house over footpaths (40 mins walk).  Maps of the walk HERE.

This is our real local and is the best pub around for a mixture of a genuine pub, a great garden,

and a high end restaurant offering to boot!

The Hook & Hatchet.  www.hookandhatchetpub.co.uk    01622-880272 (13 mins)

Our second favourite local but a bit further out.  This is a hidden gem in a lovely valley in Hucking.

Set all alone and surrounded by hundreds s of acres of public woodlands on the Hucking Estate (great for dogs and kids,

miles of well signed footpaths) the Hook offers great pub food, regular music events and excellent beers.

A real locals free-house country pub lovingly run by Sharon and Alan.  If you are walkers then there is a lovely route

along the Pilgrims Way and up onto the downs - about 4.5 miles each way.

Percival’s Rest.  www.percivalsrest.com  01622-587518 (4 mins)

The village pub in Harrietsham a mile down the road from the house.  Good pub grub in a separate restaurant area.
