CIRCULAR WALK

There is a pleasant 1.5 mile (45 mins) walk which has lovely views and is pretty easy.  Follow the red arrows onto the farm, go left on the gallops and head for the yellow arrow and go through the fence and follow the first part of the Walk to the Ringlestone Inn.  Instead of going left to the pub go straight on and then right, head down the track towards the Pilgrims Way.  Right at the road, pass the statue of the Monk, then just before a gate on the left turn right into the woods at the gap in the fence and follow the path through the trees back up the hill to the farm.

WALK TO THE RINGLESTONE INN

This is a lovely walk avoiding roads entirely.  It is about 1.8 miles to the pub and the same back, if you retrace your steps.  Alternatively it is 2.2 miles back if you go the pretty way via the lovely views at point 8 on the map below.

THE HUCKING ESTATE

The Hucking Estate is amazing, totally remote, almost nobody around, hundreds and hundreds of acres of public woodlands and the best for pub for miles around that allows walkers to park whenever they visit.  The Hook and Hatchet.  You can walk all the way there for then house.  We suggest plot your route on the larger maps supplied below, but basically it is 4.5 miles there and the same back.  Follow the Pilgrims Way basically.

The easier way is to drive and either park in the Woodland Trust car park,

or go on a bit further to The Hook, best choice!

WALK TO HARRIETSHAM AND LENHAM

The two local villages are well worth a visit.  Harrietsham is the nearest and the pub, The Pilgrims Rest, is a great village pub serving good food.  A lot of our guests recommend it for pub grub and an excellent Sunday Lunch.

Lenham is more of a traditional Kentish village set around a pretty village square with lots of quirky independent shops, a genuine bakery, several antique shops, several cafes and a top class fish and chip shop with an attached restaurant.  Well worth a visit.

You can walk direct to both villages along the roads, but Stede Hill is quite busy with no footpath.  It is a nicer walk along the various footpaths to both villages.  The map below should help you find your way.
